History

ebrain was developed in 2010 / 11 with enormous contribution from all the UK neuroscience specialties and the European Academy of Neurology.  A list of contributors can be found here. The programme was launched in Nov 2011 with 550 elearning sessions.  Subsequently Neuroradiology and Spinal surgery have been added and there are now over 650 elearning sessions covering Neurology, Paediatric Neurology, Neurophysiology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychiatry, Neuropathology, Neuroanaesthetics, Spinal surgery, Stroke medicine, Neuro-opthalmology, Neuro-otology, Neurorehabilitation, Primary Care Neurology and Spinal cord injury medicine.

More recently the team has been focussed on developing different ways to present the content including virtual patients, bibliographies, question banks and webinars.  There has been an annual formative practice exam in Neurosurgery since 2014, The Neurology formative questions will start in 2017.

In 2016 ebrain was recognised by the Royal College of Physicians as an awarder of CPD points.  In 2017 we have embarked on an updating programme, we will be running formative exams in Neurology and Neurosurgery, we are providing online components of residential courses and we are developing the team with a new content editor and administrator.
