Degenerative Diseases

Alzheimer’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia, cerebro-vascular disease and uncommon conditions including prion disease

       

Movement Disorders

Parkinsonian syndromes, dystonia, tremor, chorea, tics, myoclonus, cerebellar disorders and others

Neuromuscular Disorders

Disorders of muscle and peripheral nerve including myasthenia gravis and motor neurone disease

Coma and Sleep Disorders

Hypoxic-ischaemic brain injury, metabolic encephalopathies and disorders of sleep

Neuro-Ophthalmology

Visual failure, diplopia, pupillary abnormalities, nystagmus and ptosis. Optic nerve, chiasmal, cavernous sinus and orbital diseases

       

Neuro-Otology Conditions

Dizziness, vertigo and hearing loss, Meniere’s disease and benign positional vertigo, falls in the elderly and disorders of taste and smell

Autonomic Nervous System

Autonomic failure, primary and secondary including Parkinson’s disease and specifically neural control of bladder, bowel and sexual function

Traumatic Spinal Injury

This module includes sessions on acute  and longer term spinal injury including spinal cord injury management

Degenerative spinal disease, atlantoaxial subluxation, spondylolisthesis and spondylitis

High grade, low grade, benign and non-neoplastic mass lesions of the brain and spine in adults and children

Hydrocephalus, chiari malformations and syringomyelia in adults and children

Spinal and Neuro-Rehabilitation

Occupational therapy, physiotherapy, spasticity management, maximising independence.
