Degenerative neurological diseases including the dementias are one of the most important public health issues of our time. This module focuses on the dementias with sessions on the epidemiology, the approach to diagnosis, the investigation, clinical aspects, and treatment and care. The conditions considered include Alzheimer’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia, cerebro-vascular disease and the less common conditions including prion disease.
