Chairperson: Angela C. Vincent, Oxford, United Kingdom
Auto-antibodies cause various neurological conditions which could present movement disorders as prominent feature. It is important to recognize and diagnose the underlining disorders because they can be treated and dramatically improve patient outcomes. This teaching course will focus on paraneoplastic and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders (PANDAS) as well as disorders that are associated with NMDA, voltage gated, antiphospholipid and other auto-antibodies. The final presentation will be a clinical review and approach to autoimmune movement disorders that will include take-away messages for clinicians who may encounter these patients in their clinical practice.
